The numerous resources they provide… Read More help to make it so you never feel left “out-to-dry”. During almost all waking hours there was either an alumni tutor, office hours, or teacher available. In addition to professional support, they also provided a community to help you grow with your peers – which I often utilized for assistance during non-traditional hours. They truly leave no stone unturned in the preparation process… from upping your problem solving skills in the pre-work, providing peer review and collaborative coding experiences, building interview skills both in the technical and behavioral side of things, and providing an abundance of information on job application and workplace processes from where and how to find jobs, what to expect in every step, even what pay expectations and benefits should be and how to interpret them. It was overall the most comprehensive experience. My only wish would be that I had more time to devote to the program during my time there so that I could have taken advantage of more and grown farther.

Our instructor was amazing, their passion for code was contagious, and their expertise felt bottomless. No matter how stuck I was, they were always there, patiently untangling the knots in my logic. Another positive to Tech Elevator is its Pathway Program. It might seem basic if you already have an extensive career history but follow their advice. They know what they are doing. My Pathway Director, another rockstar, helped me polish my resume, refine my interview skills, and build a LinkedIn profile that got noticed. Put equal effort into coding and the Pathway Program – it’s like a secret weapon for landing your first tech job. Another great aspect of the program is your other cohort members. Everyone brought their unique perspective and experiences to the table. We learned from each other, supported each other, and built connections that will last far beyond graduation. These aren’t just classmates; they’re your future network. Now, let’s address the elephant in the room: the price tag. Yes, it’s hefty, but here’s the thing – you’re investing in yourself. I was fortunate enough to land a Software Developer job through matchmaking in the program and have been using skills I learned at Tech Elevator every day. Overall, I think Tech Elevator is worth it, and if you’re thinking about doing a boot camp, Tech Elevator is where you should leap.

At TE, I found the curriculum to be an excellent foundation for an entry-level engineer. The instructors and staff were consistently accessible, offering substantial support with coursework and real-world coding projects. The Pathway Program was a highlight, enabling me to secure my first job through TE’s Matchmaking partners. TE’s commitment extended beyond the curriculum, with consistent personal follow-ups and a surprising level of dedication, exemplified by my Pathway director’s presence on my first day at my new job.

“From High School Math Teacher to Junior Developer in 14 Weeks”

Everybody was so nice, helpful and got along so well that it really made it quite sad to leave the bootcamp at the… Read More end of the three months. Additionally, I learned that I REALLY loved to code. I thought this might be true given that I started teaching computer science partway through my 16-year career in education (and generally enjoyed it), but I was afraid that when we got to the tough stuff at Tech Elevator, it might break me down…thankfully I was wrong. I came into class nearly everyday excited for whatever concepts would be thrown at us. I never once dreaded coming into class like I did when I was teaching. Better yet, my wife can attest to the fact that I came home (even on the super long days) from class in a better mood than I had been in for the last I-don’t-know-how-many years in my previous career. Thirdly, I ALWAYS felt supported at Tech Elevator. If I ran into any problems, I knew I could talk to my instructor, one of the other instructors, some of my classmates or rely on our online “textbook” for help. I never once felt alone in any of this. Any time that I was struggling, I could find comfort knowing there was a VERY good chance a bunch of the other students were struggling, too (does that make me evil?). Programming can be difficult! I worked my butt off at Tech Elevator and you know what? I got a job before the bootcamp was even over. Add this to the list of things in life where you will get out of it what you put in. I sat up front (something I NEVER did in high school or college), I never once used ChatGPT to give me answers, I (almost) always did the readings before class, and I really thought hard about how the code worked as I typed out solutions to the practice assignments. I put tons of time into this class, and the class rewarded me with a job! Attending Tech Elevator was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made as a human being on this planet. I cannot wait to start the next chapter of my life as a software engineer!

There is no spoon feeding here, they guide you to the answers you seek. The placement group is second to none. Getting companies to come in and talk about careers at there businesses, mock interviews and mock tech interviews were great building blocks to be ready for a interview in the real world. I recommend Tech Elevator to anyone who is looking to enter the world of computer development. I actually had actually graduated with a degree in computer information systems back in ’91 and this course brought me up to the current state of programming languages. i can truly say that after just 14 weeks I am able to really use my skills at my new job. If you have an aptitude to programming you will do incredible in this course.

Though I had an hour commute, I highly recommend attending in-person versus… Read More online. Having access to the staff, other students, real world hiring partners was invaluable. The Pathway program is worth its weight in gold. The staff went way above and beyond in my case, they truly care about helping people. The program itself was hard work, but well worth it. Changing careers is not an easy decision, but it can pay off.
