“Don’t waste your money”
As a web designer with extensive WordPress knowledge, this bootcamp was a waste of money. It took me over 700 applications to get hired as a Web Support Specialist. The “skills” I learned were not enough to enter into an entry level Front-end or Back-end… Read More position. If you are willing to learn independently for MONTHS after graduation – treating it as a FT job then this might be your school. Otherwise – go to CodeAcademy – complete personal projects – enroll in their Full-Stack track and save yourself thousands of dollars. Coding Dojo employees former students as their instructors with no industry experience – same applies for their TA’s.

“Top Tier Bootcamp”
Coding dojo was such a great experience. Had little coding knowledge but by the end of the boot camp I felt confident in getting into the software development field. The courses were very detailed, included lots of support, and the instructors were patient,… Read More involved and available. The assignments were definitely helpful in learning each stack. We also get life time career services, who help with finding a job, resume building, interview coaching, etc. Would recommend to anyone looking to get into software development or wanting to learn new languages.

“Amazing”
So there are some pros and cons and they are actually the same but opposite sides. The 3 stack program is amazing to get a few different languages under your belt and see what you like. But on the flip side that can hinder you from learning deeper into… Read More the language. As for me, I like having the more languages. It gave me more of a feel of what I wanted to do. I thought I wanted to do front end but quickly realized I did not like that approach. The Career services team are amazing if you work with them. While they may reach out to you for hte initial you have to put in your leg work (not a bad thing since they have 100s of students to work with) to keep your resume up to par and worded right. The instructors and TA’s are top notch. It is hard to stump them with any type of questions, besides stumping them they even go in depth to help further your knowledge. All the instructors I had were in it to help you succeed. Each stack you have an exam to test your knowledge. It is a fail pass exceed, All in all The staff is awesome and great to know and study under.

“”Great starting point for a career change””
Coding Dojo’s bootcamp was a great first step for making a career change into software development. No prior coding experience is required to start, and the online learning platform is easy to navigate and allows for lots of hands-on practice with coding…. Read More Twice-weekly lectures were informative, and instructors and TAs were responsive and helpful. Career services offered some helpful tips regarding resume revisions and the job hunt in general. I chose Coding Dojo after an extensive search of bootcamps, including interviewing recruiters from multiple companies. What sold me Coding Dojo’s program was that it is competitively priced, offers a number of scholarship options, and it has a “choose your own adventure” sort of feel: you can do one, two, or three stacks, part-time or full-time, remote or in-person. I did the remote one-stack accelerated program so that I could care for my toddler during the day. Overall, the experience was challenging and enjoyable, but it’s important to keep in mind that bootcamps in general are really just jumping-off points: if you want to succeed in finding a position post-graduation you’ll need to be fiercely devoted to self-driven learning, algorithm practice, networking, resume revisions, building personal projects and a portfolio, mock interviewing, conducting informational interviews with people in the industry, and applying to jobs (and getting rejected) like crazy. Keep in mind that competition for entry-level jobs is fierce and will be time-consuming and frustrating. If you’re ready to tackle these challenges, then set your expectations appropriately and give Coding Dojo a try. Best of luck!

“Intense but Worthwhile”
Quite possibly one of the most challenging and worthwhile experiences I’ve ever gone through. Coding Dojo was tough, intense, frustrating, and satisfying. The curriculum was paced in a way where you had to keep up with the material, else you would be… Read More too far behind to catch up. It was taught in a way where it’s easy for a beginner to understand it. The biggest drawback I’d say is the cost of the program. Not many people can shell out over 14k for a full-time situation. Other cons included the some of the material being outdated, but was rectified by using one’s Google-Fu. Also, my cohort and instructors were available to help out as much as they could. Had a lot of face to face assistance. Overall, it was a great and worthwhile experience. I’d recommend the full time program to anyone who doesn’t have much else going on as the time requirements are high.

“Mostly a positive experience”
Pros: teachers / overall curriculum The instructors and TAs were great. You have to hold yourself accountable and be willing to ask questions and set meetings. It really does teach you the skills you need to be a full stack developer at the basic level…. Read More Pushing past that is on you. Cons: I haven’t had a great experience with the career management team. You really have to work hard to get them to help you and they don’t have a network of employers to get you placed. Most of them don’t come to meetings prepared and it takes a few weeks to get a meeting. Again, it’s on you to stay on top of this. They probably have too many students to CSM so try and be empathetic and on top of your personal situation.

“I loved every bit of it”
Learning something totally new in a space of about 4 months was totally amazing, especially having had no background in python. I learned a lot and can’t wait to apply my new skillset. “The most fun and Education I’ve had”
This program is so much fun. I did the fulltime online web dev course and the 3 1/2 months flew by so quickly with all the fun I had. The course was challenging and helped build me up to be able to find the job I have today. They teach you so much in… Read More such a short time. If the students ever wanted to get ahead and learn non course work material the teachers would do their best to help and guide them. When you fell behind they would help you catch back up . There was plenty of 1 on 1 interaction with the teachers to be able to successfully guide you.

“I like it”
My favorite is the curriculum. As a beginner, there are too much knowledge and resources on the Internet, I don’t know how to choose, what to learn, and how to plan. I really like Coding Dojo’s learning platform, it imparts knowledge in an efficient way… Read More and lets us reinforce the knowledge by doing lots of exercise and homework. If I studied by myself, I wouldn’t be able to learn so much so efficiently. Besides, the instructors and TAs are always willing to help, check the code and solve my problems either with installation or coding. It helps me a lot because I don’t have anyone around me to ask for help, after all, I’m not in CS major.

“Overpriced. Poor support. Ineffective curriculum.”
It was incredibly overpriced. The career service advisor I was assigned missed meetings, didn’t communicate and didn’t care. She asked if I had LinkedIn even though I sent her my LinkedIn before the first meeting (the only one she showed up to). FreeCodeCamp… Read More taught me more, and did it more effectively. I can’t emphasize enough how disappointed I was with their curriculum, career services, and support in general. A TA I met with gave me false information multiple times and I eventually found the correct answer on StackExchange. If you want to see how ineffective bootcamps are for getting you into tech, just see the amount of graduates that end up as unmotivated TAs .
